Marion- Leah Rowan

published date: 6/2/26

In a modern-day twist on the famous Hitchcock thriller Psycho, you’re given the opportunity by the fabulous Leah Rowan to ponder what happens if the Janet Leigh character (named Marion here) had fought back. Marion comes to the Billings hotel out of desperation- she’s stolen money from her boss that’s meant to ‘start a new firm’- unwittingly being part of a theft plot. She wants to help her sister out of an abusive marriage but needs money to help her escape. Cut to the infamous shower scene, and when Norm Billings pulls back the curtain to kill her- Marion defends herself and kills him instead.

Leah Rowan takes us on a scary yet empowered ride- will Marion help her sister? She’s now a thief and a murderer- what other trouble can she get into? Giving voice and story to one of the most ‘famous victims in film’ is dark, it’s scary, its full of righting wrongs and its delicious. Add this to your TBR pile- you won’t regret getting to know Marion.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for giving me the chance to read this ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
