Sadie Kincaid always brings the spice, and The Auction is no exception. While the initial subject matter of trafficking is apparent, this is more a Beauty and the Beast trope- where Lincoln Knight, who is a disfigured and shadowy, considered a billionaire recluse, is working against such horrible efforts. The target of his affection and desire, Imogen, is innocent- raised to be subservient and as a pawn. This book gives such dark vibes but so mafia-meets-Disney storyline. While this is the first in the series, I’m hoping for more backstory as to WHY Imogen and why Lincoln Knight feels so desperate to destroy The Brotherhood. You come for the spice, and you won’t be disappointed.
