While James Patterson is best known for creating the indelible Alex Cross, it’s Gary Soneji that lives on 32 years after his debut in Along Came a Spider. He’s everything you want in a master villain- cocky, intelligent, incorrigible and altogether evil. His manic personality and egotistical nature take root in Return of the Spider. Interestingly, male spiders rarely survive mating, which makes Gary Soneji an even better killer.
